Primal Brewery Flip the Script

  The Beer

Flip the Script label

Flip the Script

Primal Brewery

IPA - New England / Hazy

7.4% ABV     |     0 IBU

Gather 'round, my fellow beer enthusiasts, for a tale of libation grandeur! Behold the "Flip the Script" from Primal Brewery – a brew that dared to defy the norms, a liquid rebellion in a pint glass. Picture this: a symphony of hops and malts engaging in a dance on your taste buds, a performance that flips the script on your ordinary beer-drinking experience.

As I raised the glass to my eager lips, the aroma wafted like a poetic prelude, promising a journey through hoppy realms and malty dimensions. The first sip was a revelation – a bold proclamation that this beer meant business. The hops pirouetted across my palate, leaving behind a trail of citrusy notes that tickled the taste buds like a mischievous sprite.

Yet, as the malt sweetness joined the party, there was a harmonious marriage of flavors, a yin, and yang of the beer world. The caramel undertones played a supporting role, adding depth to the narrative of each sip. It was a tale of balance, a saga of flavors that unfolded with every subsequent gulp.

Now, let's talk about the mouthfeel – a velvety embrace that lingered just long enough to make its presence known without overstaying its welcome. The carbonation waltzed delicately, a choreography of effervescence that complemented the beer's narrative rather than overshadowing it.

Alas, as with all great stories, there were some plot twists. The finish, while pleasant, didn't leave an enduring mark on the palate. It was like the final scene of a captivating movie – satisfying, yet leaving you longing for just a bit more.

In the grand tapestry of my beer adventures, "Flip the Script" earns a respectable grade. A commendable performance, indeed! Primal Brewery, you've crafted a brew that flips the script on ordinary beer experiences, leaving us thirsty for more tales from your fermenting cauldrons. Cheers to creativity in every sip!

My Rating: 🍺🍺🍺🍺 3.75/5

Primal Brewery Pojo IPA

 The Beer

POJO label

POJO

Primal Brewery

IPA - American

6.7% ABV     |     70 IBU

Diving into the jungle of craft beers, I cracked open a can of Pojo IPA by Primal Brewing. Forget Simba, this beer is the true king of the craft beer savannah!  As I took my first sip, it hit me like a friendly gorilla handshake - bold and unapologetic. Pojo is like the Tarzan of IPAs, swinging from hop to hop with a hoppy roar that echoes through the taste buds.

The aroma? Imagine if the jungle had a perfume section. Tropical fruit notes mingling with the scent of pine, as if a pineapple decided to take a stroll through a Christmas tree farm.

The taste? It's like a safari for your taste buds. Grapefruit and mango wrestling in the hoppy underbrush, with a hint of pine needles – the kind that Tarzan would floss with after a hearty feast.

Pair it with a grilled feast fit for a jungle king, and you've got a pairing that makes even Cheetah jealous.

In conclusion, Pojo IPA is more than a beer; it's a wild adventure in a can. So, grab your vine (or bottle opener), swing into flavor town, and let the primal instincts of your taste buds run wild!"  My Rating: 🍺🍺🍺🍺 3.5/5

Kodachrome IPA
A pint of Kodachrome IPA from Birdsong Brewery.

Birdsong Brewing Co.'s Kodachrome is like the Michelangelo of beers – it doesn't just paint your taste buds; it throws them a wild party! Picture this: a pale golden elixir that smells like a citrus and pine forest got lost in a candy shop. One sip, and you'll wonder if your taste buds just joined a conga line of flavor, with hop bitterness and malt sweetness doing the cha-cha on your tongue. It's like a tiny beer fiesta happening in your glass. Now, let's talk about the label – it's so retro-chic that even your grandma's polyester pantsuit would be jealous. The branding is like a time machine, taking you back to the days when people thought Kodachrome was the height of photographic sophistication. So, not only does Kodachrome make your taste buds do the Macarena, but it also turns your drinking experience into a stylish journey through beer and nostalgia. It's the kind of beer you'd want to share with friends, or, let's be honest, hide in the back of the fridge so you don't have to share at all! Baby Kittens
Baby Kittens from Fat Orange Cat Brewing
Brewed Meowgic in a Bottle!  I recently tried Fat Orange Cat Brewing's Baby Kittens, and let me tell you, it's the purr-fect blend of hops and hilarity! As soon as I popped the cap, the aroma whiskered me away to a land of citrusy delights, with just a hint of mischievous kitten antics. Pouring it into a glass felt like unleashing a cascade of liquid sunshine, and the color was so vibrant it could rival a cat's fur after a successful afternoon of sunbathing. The first sip was a revelation – it's like they captured the essence of kittens frolicking in a hop-filled field. The aftertaste had me feline fine, with subtle notes of joy and a lingering desire to chase a laser pointer. This beer is so good; I'm considering setting up a scratching post near the fridge to signal my approval. In conclusion, Fat Orange Cat Brewing's Baby Kittens is the cat's meow of craft beers. It's the kind of brew that leaves you wondering if you should share it with friends or keep it all to yourself, like a well-guarded stash of catnip. Cheers to the brewers for bottling up this whisker-twitching goodness!
